Pick 'n' Mix up? Ashley Greene chomps on suspiciously phallic looking gummy candy

By Amelia Proud

Her character is set to make a 'shocking' arrival in the first episode of the new pilot.
So perhaps the phallic looking gummy candy that Ashley Greene was chewing on the set is no coincidence.
The 25-year-old was spotted with a suspicious looking sugary item in hand as she shot scenes for her new TV show pilot Americana, in Queens, New York.

It looked very similar to contents of a box of Penis Gummies that Suri Holmes picked up in New York a year ago, without her mother Katie realising the mistake.
Ashley could possibly have done the same, or perhaps she had picked up odd shaped gums without realising how it looked.
At the time of the now-infamous incident involving little Suri, her mother had thought her then four-year-old daughter had picked up Swedish Fish, a popular candy in the US that looks similar.

Sugar rush: Whatever the shape was meant to be, Ashley was having fun chowing down on the gummy

She told Ellen shortly after the incident at Serendipity in Manhattan: 'We go in and we are waiting for a table and she grabs some gummies that are boy part gummies. I was horrified.'
Katie was clearly still so embarrassed by the episode, she couldn't bring herself to actually say what the sweets were.
So the former Dawson's Creek star spelled it out to show host Ellen, saying: 'P-e-n-i-s gummies. I said, oh wow those aren’t Swedish Fish.'
Ellen interjected and joked: 'Even I know that, I know the difference there!'

Katie laughed and continued: 'They are called p-e-n-i-s gummies and they look like it. She was holding the box and I was like okay, wow we don’t need that right now.

'Because I thought if I said "put that back!"  and then she’s going to say, "what is this?" And I really didn’t want to have that conversation.
But Ashley looks as though she's probably aware of the connotations of her snack.
However, the look could be a coincidence, the sweet could just as easily be a microphone or altered into that shape by her chomping.

It could well be her edgy designer character eating the sweet, and not Ashley, too.
The pilot created by Michael Seitzman is said to focus on legendary design icon Robert Soulte.
Greene will play Alice Clarke, an aspiring designer whose shocking arrival turns the Soulte family - as well as his label - inside out.
